I've talked to a lot of potential investors. There are two groups; the serious kind and the downright stupid kind.

Let's start with the serious kind. They KNOW there's profit to be gained by investing in the adult industry. They KNOW this is a good idea, but they are too afraid of what their family, friends and businesspartners in other areas might think or what will happen if they are subjected to a due diligence check. They have the right intentions but not the balls to actually do it.
Eventhough I point these things out in the investmentidea they still call me and set up meetings only to withdraw a few days later. It's a waste of my time as well as their own and I'd wish they'd stop and THINK before they waste our time.

The downright stupid kind are divided into different subgroups, but the general thing about them is that they want to get into the industry for the fun of it. They want to spend 'quality time' with the models and enjoy the 'fringe benefits' they think they are entitled to in this industry.
Often they ask me to bring models to the first meeting. Their excuse for this is that they want to 'see the talent I am working with'. Bullshit, they want to flirt with the models and they hope to get laid.

A potential investor MUST understand the ramifications of investing in the adult industry. Yes, everyone will find out you own or partially own a porncompany and no, you wont get laid with the models. Pornography is a goldmine IF you treat it as a business, not as a personal amusement.

Denmark was the first country to legalize pornography. Sweden soon followed suit and Norway opened up for pornography in 2007. You would think that in the “ol’ country” of porn there would be a huge industry or at least some industry left from the good ol’ days.
There isn’t. Scandinavian pornography is pretty much dead. Not due to lack of users or willing talent. The main problem is the shortsightedness of the small time distributors in the scandinavian countries. They eagerly import cheap american and eastern-european movies, which they retail at a high price, but scandinavian movies are left alone since they are a little more expensive than foreign movies.
Another big problem is the lack of ambition in most producers. Untill recently there was five major productioncompanies in all of Scandinavia; Belais Productions, DK Production, Tre-Mag, Nikki Dane Productions and SexAreUs.
Since 2003 Belais Productions have produced 4 DVD-titles, DK Production just 3, Tre-Mag 10 titles, Nikki Dane Productions produced 1 title and SexAreUs produced 40 titles. I owned and ran the latter company.
Lately the DVD-distributors have made demands that simply cannot be done in Scandinavia. First of all, they compared american titles with the scandinavian and wants the scandinavian titles at the same price. This cannot be done, since it has been difficult for scandinavian producers to sell rights outside the scandinavian countries and the current distributors expect exclusive rights for less than half of the productioncost.
Also, they have made the demand that only newface talent can be used in scenes. This is a major problem because the combined population of the scandinavian countries is approx. 17 million. We have on average one new girl coming into the industry every two months. And the girls who have already started in the industry does not get the chance to evolve their talent and gain stardom.
These and more factors, such as the rivalry between the producers, leaves the scandinavian adult industry wide op for an ambitious businessman and producer such as myself and one or more investors looking to grab an entire nichemarket with a firm grib.
By producing, importing, exporting and retailing adult material on DVD and on the internet a new company to easily grab a major percentage of the market and hold on to it. This document is not an actual businessplan but rather a description on how I would do that with the right investor or group of investors backing me up and taking part in the overall management of the company.

Areas of Interest

These are the areas of interest for the company. For the purpose of this document I have called the company “Scandinavian Adult Media”, SAM for short, but the name can be change in the future.

Distribution
SAM will import sextoys, garments and dvd-titles from foreign countries, mainly the US. A staff of salespersons working on provision per sale, handles the sale to retailers. The salespersons are rewarded a fixed fee per sold item depending on which items they sell and how big a profit we turn on the individual sale.
The salesstaff uses a weekly catalogue of items which we import after they have already been sold to the retailer. The catalogue also includes SAM’s own productions (see below), with a new title and stored titles every week.

Production
Every month SAM produces 4 DVD-titles consisting of 5 scenes each. These 20 scenes will be sold in our own distribution as well as exported and the scenes will also be used on a company website as material for endusers.
I have had good succes with producing titles from this ‘mold’. It has been tried and tested numerous times and is easy to implement in Scandinavia, although I am sure things are done diffently in other parts of the world.
It is the cheapest and most efficient way to produce a large number of scenes in Scandinavia. It is also the main reason I have produced up to ten times more titles than my competitors; I am simply cheaper because I know a better way to shoot than they do.

Websites
There are very few scandinavian websites and the few that does exist are rarely updated. Most potential users quickly learn to use a 3-day trial membership, download everything and maybe, if there has been enough updates, they use the 3-day trial again six months later.
By being able to update the website 20 times per month, which is pretty much every day!, the company’s website for endusers is easily able to take the IP-based market in matter of weeks.

The company will also have a business website for foreign importers, exporters and the like.

Retailstores – franchise
All the scandinavian adult stores are simular; a old guys behind the counter, usually reading a book and smoking a cigar, leaving the customer on their own in the store. This is not good service.
In 2006 I opened and managed a store for a contract of mine which was so succesfull other storeowners in the city of Aarhus bought the store and closed it down. The difference between our store and their stores were huge; we had scantily clad pornstars offering to help the customers finding what they were looking for and constantly smiling.

The store will be importing and selling the same items the company offers other retailstores in Scandinavia, and SAM will only have one retailstore of it’s own. The concept will be offered to businessmen in Europe as a franchise putting the items in commision with the franchisetaker.

Other activities
In order to maintain a firm grasp on the Scandinavian adult markets it is important that SAM and myself as a person, is closely linked to pornography in Scandinavia. I am already a smalltime celebrity, known to be a hardliner Libertarian and a pornographer. This image should be enhanced in order for the endusers to think of SAM and my person whenever they think of pornography.
There is much debate in Denmark especially about pornography and this debate takes place without anyone from the adult industry involved. SAM will spearhead a defense of pornography and work on a positive image for the industry as a whole.

Own company. The major plan was to use the income from producing adult entertainment to fund the development of board-, card- and roleplayinggames. Successful in the adult entertainment department but not in the gamesdevelopment.

Handled all parts of the production as I had while working for Uwe baclau. Also handled accounting, sales, marketing and so on.

Company dismantled due to offer within broadcasting.

2004 – 2005
Content manager for HiperMedia ApS

Provided adult material for a supposed broadcastsystem run from Denmark. The broadcastsystem was never implemented resulting in the bankruptsy of HiperMedia ApS.

Lack of success due to incompetent management.

2005 – 2006

On behalf of a colleage who was drafted into the danish army I ran his content on the internet.

A very shortlived company due to mismanagement. Produced only 4 titles when I was fired due to ’differences in opponion’. Basically I am opposed to company owners exploiting the female talent for own personal amusement.

2006 - 2007
Producer/Store Manager for Plaything

Opening and managing stores in Aarhus and Aalborg, Denmark. Producing adult entertainment, handling accounting, sales, marketing and all other aspects of managing a productioncompany.

Stores were sold to competitors who dismantled them due to too much competition with their own stores.

2007 -
Freelance producer/SexAreUs

From June to September I produced material on freelance basis for TV+ ApS and Magic Media ApS. Also a number of websites had material produced by me.
In September I founded my second company SexAreUs and have so far (January 2009) produced some 40 DVD titles and 200+ scenes for the internet during my professional career (2001 – 2009).

Relevant education
From 1993 to 1999 I was a student of PHF MedieFronten in Svendborg, Denmark. From 1993 to 1996 I was under the tutelage of Karl Jensen, renowned documentarist and teacher, and from 1996 to 1999 Lars Giver, of simular renown, took over the school.
During my stay at MedieFronten I took part in the production of documentaries and shortfilms. I mainly produced documentaries but also directed 9 shortfilms. Also, I was educated as a cameraoperator, sound engineer, lighting engineer, editor and scriptwriter.
I am a Jack of All Trades in the production of any kind of videomaterial and have 15 years of experience with the speciality of producing adult entertainment.
